Please tell us how you, your family or your community has benefited from Medicaid coverage for dental care, vision care, and transportation assistance: I had infection in my jaw and the only way to get rid of it was to get all my teeth pulled. If I hadnÍt had dental insurance I wouldnÍt have been able to afford it and the dentist said it would have eventually went to my brain and killed me. I am also diabetic so it is important for me to get my eyes checked and now I canÍt afford it. ItÍs bad enough I have to buy my glasses. But paying for the exam also is too expensive.

Please tell us how eliminating these benefits would affect you, your family, or your community: I canÍt get my eyes checked or my husbands and childrenÍs eyes. My husband and I are both diabetic so itÍs important for us to have our eyes checked yearly. IÍm concerned that my children will have eye problems as well and we canÍt afford over $400 for just eye exams for four people.
