Tell us more about how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected you or your family. As a mental health therapist, my job has become more important than ever. I work with a population that has a lower socio-economic standard than the “average” Kentuckian. It has become increasingly difficult to find community and state resources for the families that have been affected by the virus. Several of my clients are facing possible eviction, loss of benefits, and loss of utilities due to the lack of support from the officials enforcing resources.
What do you need to stay healthy and take care of yourself or your family during this pandemic? My work has done the best they can to provide us the PPE that we need to be able to effectively perform our jobs. However, supplies are low, and we had not budgeted this expense due to not foreseeing this pandemic. Easier access to PPE and protection if possibly exposed would allow me to do my job better which is to take care and protect the mental health of fellow Kentuckians.
