Tell us more about how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected you or your family. After our daycare re-opened they are no longer able to provide breakfast, lunch and snacks to children. As parents we are forced to pack their food each day while we continue to pay the normal tuition which previously included food pre-COVID. Due to our son being four and not in a public school but rather a daycare we were told we did not qualify for the P-BET benefits.

I also work in financial services for a large hospital and have personally seen income changed in households due to the additional unemployment benefits received. We offer financial assistance based on income and those that received the extra $600.00 weekly benefit amount were making more money than they were while they were working full-time. How is this right?! This has become an incentive for some to stay on unemployment.

What do you need to stay healthy and take care of yourself or your family during this pandemic? My family and i are fortunate enough to have what i believe we need to stay healthy during the pandemic currently. However, if daycares cannot go back to providing meals in their facilities soon we will need to look into SNAP or other funding for food.
