Please tell us how you, your family or your community has benefited from Medicaid coverage for dental care, vision care, and transportation assistance: We qualified for KChip through the Medicaid previously, which helped our family to maintain medical, dental and vision care for our children. At the time, my husband was the only one working and our only income. Paying for coverage on just ourselves, as adults, was difficult, to say the least, as our monthly payments were over $600 out of his paycheck. We would’ve not been able to afford dental and vision for 4 children at that time.

Please tell us how eliminating these benefits would affect you, your family, or your community: If there is ever a need for my family to qualify for any benefits, dental and vision not being included would be a substainal cause of my children’s dental and vision health decline. It is much more expensive to pay for dental and vision than it is for medical. This will impact our emergency rooms to become even more crowded in an emergency as community parents would have no option but to utilize the care there, which would created even more debt to our hospitals, doctors, and community as a whole.
